Step 5: Edit Book Metadata

Calibre automatically fetches metadata for your books, but you might want to manually edit or add metadata to ensure the accuracy and completeness of book details. To do this:

  • Right-click on the book you want to edit and select “Edit metadata” from the context menu.
  • In the metadata editing window, you can modify the book’s title, author, publisher, cover image, and other relevant details.
  • Once you have made the necessary changes, click “OK” to save the updated metadata.

Step 6: Categorize and Organize Books

If you have a large number of books, you might want to categorize them into different genres, authors, series, or other criteria to make it easier to find and manage your collection. To categorize and organize books:

  • Right-click on a book or a group of selected books and select “Edit metadata” from the context menu.
  • In the metadata editing window, you can add or modify various organizational fields such as tags, series, genres, and more.
  • Make the desired changes and click “OK” to save the changes.

Step 7: Sync e-Reader Device (optional)

If you own an e-reader device, you can sync your Calibre library with your device to transfer books directly. Connect your e-reader device to your computer using the appropriate cable and follow the on-screen instructions provided by Calibre to set up the synchronization.

That’s it! By following these steps, you can easily add books to your Calibre library, edit their metadata, organize your collection, and even sync with an e-reader device if desired. Calibre is a powerful tool for managing your e-book library and providing a seamless reading experience.
