Do you know how to export and import all data, settings and Calibre library?
This moment we are talking about the free software called Calibre, as many of you will already know, we refer to a program that has been in our midst for a few years, and that is responsible for helping us manage our electronic book library as efficiently as possible.
For all of this, we can take advantage of the many functions and features of this application. Puts at our disposal to have the most significant control over the ebooks that we are acquiring and storing, in addition to helping us carry out tasks as usual as is the conversion of these files, sending to our digital e-book reader, editing metadata, managing the library, etc.
So, among other things, because it is the most used program of this kind and because, as we say, it has been among us for several years. It is entirely possible that many of you, over time, has accumulated a complete library, in addition to having been adapting and customizing some of the many Calibre functions, to your needs and preferences.
That is why, if for example we have bought a new PC and do not want to start over again with this tool on the new computer. Or we only see ourselves in the obligation to format Windows 10 or restore it, among many other possibilities, it will be interesting to know that we can export all the data, books and Calibre configurations so that we can then re-import them again.
Exports all data stored in Calibre, so that we can import it later.
With all of this, what we are actually going to achieve is not only not to lose the personal library that we have been generating over the years and its corresponding books, but we will also be able to save all the settings and preferences that we have been customizing, which in some cases can be many.
Well, to achieve all of this. The first thing we have to do is to open the program as such and locate, from among the shortcuts situated at the top of the main interface, the button called “Calibre library”, where we find the option “export or import all the Calibre data”, which is the one that interests us in this case.
Then, to export all the data to which we have referred, we choose the option that reads “export all the gauge data,” then we can select the libraries that we want to include if we have several. Then we will have to choose a location, which may be on our hard drive, on an external drive, or even in the space of some cloud storage service.
It is then that a file is created that contains all of our data of Calibre so that, when it comes time to import them, we have no more than to select that same folder to carry out the process in a few seconds.
